This is one of the ways I train my clients who are preparing for an endurance race or the military. Power, strength and endurance is key when it comes to overall body function and athletic ability. There is more to being a beast then your bench press! Challenge yourself to do more and to go harder and I can promise you the results that you want!

The summer months are creeping up faster and faster so I figured it would be the perfect time to start a Summer Body series of posts. Over the next couple of weeks I will be writing quick tips and tricks for you to start losing weight TODAY and getting your body ready for the beach! Each post will include a tip and an exercise of the day that promises to get you on your way to having the body of your dreams.
One of my biggest beach body preps is carb control. I know I talk about carbs a lot but not everybody has gotten to hear this stuff. People need to hear some things multiple times for it to finally click. I am one of them.
All winter you have been chowing down on carb filled comfort foods as you snuggle up next to your warm fire place. Well it’s too hot for fires now which means the sweaters are coming off. Happy with what you see? It’s time to start getting your butt in shape.
First things first. Watch where your carbs are coming from. You don’t want a lot of processed stuff. No more instant apple cinnamon oatmeal and Fruit Loops. Start putting in the good stuff like oats for breakfast, sweet potatoes for lunch, and getting a fair share of fruits and veggies for dinner. Fruits and veggies are a great source of carbs so from 5pm on I don’t want you taking in any carbs other then fruits and veggies.
Healthy Carb Choices:
Oats, Brown Rice, Quinoa, Wheat Germ, Buck Wheat, Red Potato, Sweet Potato, Beans and Peas.
Beach Body Exercise:
Box Jumps: Excellent legs, butt, and heart exercise. These can be done on any level and used in any fitness program. Do these between sets for a great cardio blast.
